Prayer
All of our Bible Study and Fellowship Groups include prayer but the following are opportunities specifically for prayer:
Prayer Gathering
Prayer Gatherings are held fortnightly on Thursday evenings in the Fellowship Hall at Church on alternate weeks to our Fellowship Groups.
Prayer is central to our church life because it expresses our complete dependence upon our Heavenly Father; it commits us to accept His will and to give glory and thanks to Him for His provision.
Our Prayer Gatherings are the focal point for corporate prayer, praise and news. They are the meeting for keeping in touch with Church life and information and bringing our requests and thanksgiving to God.
We pray for Our World, Our Nation and Our Church, remembering the various ministries and activities that take place each week and special events too. We also pray for our Church Family, particularly remembering our Mission Partners and those with specific needs.
The Bible tells us to "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." Ephesians 6:18
Sunday Prayer Meetings
These provide an opportunity to pray for our Church Services and all that takes place during them particularly the teaching of God's word.
After Service Prayer Team
At the end of each service someone is available to pray with you if you would like it - either about something that was said in the sermon, or about something that's going on in your life.
Parents Prayer Meetings
Parents meet together once a month after the evening service - normally on the last Sunday of each month.
Prayer Chain
A group of people who are committed to praying for specific requests which they receive from the Prayer Chain co-ordinator.
Care TEAM
The Care Team is a groups of volunteers who help to care for the church family in all sorts of ways. They are happy to help with visiting people who are lonely or unwell, shopping, transport, DIY and other things. They also provide help in a few specialist areas: new Mums and babies, marriage preparation and bereavement help. They are not there to take the place of social services or professional health care workers who are necessary for long term needs, but exist to care for the church family just like any family would.
The attached leaflet sumarises the above.
